Once Upon a Time Mystery: David Anders Teases Dr. Whale’s Real Identity

Once Upon a Time fans have been very busy coming up with theories about Dr. Whale’s (David Anders) Fairytale Land character. But David is pretty confident that no one will be able to figure out Dr. Whale’s true identity before it’s revealed on the show.

After ABC released photos from the OUAT Season 1 premiere (Season 2, Episode 1: “Broken”), featuring Dr. Whale confronting Regina (Lana Parrilla), David/Prince Charming (Josh Dallas), and Emma (Jennifer Morrison), the buzz around Dr. Whale grew even louder. So David decided to throw his opinion into the mix.

“Y’all are NEVER gonna guess who my fairytale character is & I ain't tellin. Just know it's gonna be worth the wait,” David tweeted on September 13.

Normally, we would say that no one should underestimate the OUAT fans. They come up with some of the best theories. But could we all be stumped?

Some of the most popular theories about Dr. Whale’s Fairytale Land identity include Jack (from Jack and the Beanstalk), Peter Pan (to go along with the Captain Hook episode), and Prince Eric from The Little Mermaid. More colorful theories include Dr. Frankenstein, Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde, and even Ahab from Moby Dick.

Do you think David is right and we’ll never crack the code? Or are you so confident in your theory that you’re sticking by it? Tell us in the comments!

Once Upon a Time Season 2 premieres on September 30, 2012 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
