X Factor 2012 Contestant Jillian Jensen Reveals Bullying Drove Her to Hurt Herself

We've fallen hard for hopeful X Factor contestant Jillian Jensen and her raspy voice. This gal killed it during her audition (bringing Simon Cowell to tears, mind you!), but it was her heartfelt story that really struck a note with us. Get it? A note!

We didn't get to hear too much about Jillian's struggles with bullying during her audition, but she's come clean about her painful past in an interview with OK! Magazine. "I was first bullied in seventh grade when I did the right thing by reporting a student who had offered me cocaine," Jillian tells the mag. "Everyone hated me because I was the snitch. I left that school after the year was over but it was torture."

Unfortunately, the bullying didn't stop after Jillian left school. "When I left — the kids continued to cyber bully me and it hurt really bad," she says. "That's when I started self-harming. "I used an eraser on my skin. I just wanted to erase myself from everything. I erased my skin until I would bleed."

Jillian's idol, Demi Lovato, went through similar struggles, and Jills wants to be a role model just like her. "I always told myself that if I ever made it on TV I would dedicate my performance to those who had been through the same thing," Jillian says. "I couldn't have chosen a better song. Regardless of what happens from here — I've done what I'm supposed to do. I didn't audition just for myself. That's not my purpose. I just want others not to feel alone."

Jillian couldn't believe her luck when she found out Demi was going to be her judge, and she describes her reaction. "The feeling like all your stars had aligned," she says. "The idea that I had always told myself that was my goal and just to have Demi react that way. I get goose bumps thinking about it. I couldn't believe it was real. She has been the biggest inspiration. She gave me so much courage."

Now, Jillian says she's "let go of the hate" and is ready to concentrate on moving forward. Fingers crossed that she makes into into the next round of X Factor auditions!
