That way he touched her hat during“Chasing Pavements”! The connection they shared over sewn-in J. Crew labels — and trying to make it through high school pretending you’re family isn’t struggling just to make ends meet. Marley and Sam certainly have a lot in common, but could their bond ever develop into something more?
Wetpaint Entertainment spoke with Chord Overstreet at the Fox Fall Eco-Casino party on September 7, and we asked him that very question!
Sam and Marley had a really sweet moment during the Season 4 premiere. What did you think of that? I freakin’ love Melissa (Benoist)! She’s so sweet, she’s so funny, she’s probably got one of the most quirky personalities I’ve ever worked with. Great voice. And I think people are going to love her. She’s got this sweet innocence to her that is really likeable.
Do you think there’s a chance these two might have a stronger connection? We’ll see where it goes and what happens. It’s high school, you know, so you’re dating one girl, one week and the next week you’re dating someone else. It’s TV, so we’ll see where it goes. But we’re having fun right now, and it’s basically like summer camp right now where we’re goofing around on set. It’s great!
[Editor’s Note: Glee creator Ryan Murphy recently tweeted that Sam is “more like a big brother to Marley. A guiding light. He's very sweet and careful with her.” Still, it’s possible that his feelings might change as time goes on. After all, another New Directions member is supposed to besetting their sights on Marley. Who knows what might happen later.]
