Once Upon a Time

Once Upon a Time Season 2 Spoilers: What’s Coming up for Rumplestiltskin?

With Once Upon a Time Season 2 less than two weeks away (it premieres September 30), we're desperate for any and all info on the new season.

One character we particularly want to know more about is the enigmatic Mr. Gold/Rumplestiltskin, (Robert Carlyle) whose complicated backstory and swoony-worthy relationship with Belle (Emilie de Ravin) (now a series regular) quickly shot him to near the top of our list of favorite characters during Season 1.

Fortunately, TV Guide's Returning Favorites issue (which features a familiar face on the cover) has a ton of fascinating spoilers for Rumple fans to mull over.

Here are some of the most interesting Rumple related takeaways from the article:

Premiere Rumbelle moments: Shippers, get ready: The premiere will feature both a "poignant" moment involving that chipped cup and (*drumroll please*) a Rumbelle kiss!

Baelfire: Finding Bae will still be Rumple/Gold's main concern this year, according Robert Carlyle himself. Robert refuses to dish on who Bae is, but he promises, "I know what's going to happen, and it's pretty mega." (Also of note: Jennifer Morrison says Emma is in for some surprises when it comes to Henry's [Jared Gilmore] father. More fuel for the dad = Bae theory?).

Rumple backstory: Apparently Captain Hook and Rumple go waaay back. Plus: We'll finally meet Rumple's wife. Interesting. Could those things be related?

Intensity between Regina and Gold: There will be an intense scene between Regina (Lana Parrilla) and Gold that requires a prop Lana Parrilla felt the need to hide from onlookers.
