Newly Announced Season 4 Coach, Usher, Tweets His Support for The Voice Contestant Avery Wilson

Though it was only announced last night that R&B singer Usher would be taking a big red chair for The Voice Season 4, the performer is already stepping into his role.

Last night, he tweeted his support for the episode’s final contestant Avery Wilson.

The 16-year-old sang David Guetta’s “Without You,” a performance that inspired all four (or should we say five) judges to turn around.

Though Avery went with Team Cee Lo, we have to wonder if he’d have preferred Team Usher 2013. When Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with the young singer today, he seemed pretty shocked by the shout out.

“Getting Usher to tweet me was probably, if not the best thing, one of the best things that happened that night,” Avery admitted. “I’ve always looked to him as a legend because his voice has grown over the years. It just came out of nowhere. That was like a dream to me.”

And Usher didn’t stop there. He continued to tweet his excitement about joining the show saying:

URIV is in reference to the singer’s full name Usher Raymond IV.
