The now single DWTS pro told Celebuzz her love life is "very non-existent." It kind of sounds like when her fellow pro Cheryl Burke said she was "so single" and looking for a boyfriend. Earlier this summer Cheryl ended up finding NHL player Joffrey Lupul. Up until that point, she was vocal about letting ABC find her 25 potential boyfriends as next year's Bachelorette. Since we really love the idea of a DWTS/Bachelor franchise crossover — and Cheryl may not qualify anymore — maybe it should be Karina.
@DWTSGossip was probably just joking when they linked to Celebuzz’s story with “Should we vote Karina for the #bachelorette ? I vote YES. :D” — but why not?
Karina has no problem getting guys’ attention — she was engaged twice, first to fellow DWTS pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy and then to baseball player Brad Penny. The Bachelorette does not require that you actually get married. Only the first Bachelorette has officially made it down the aisle after eight seasons. The show is mostly about quickly falling in love, then committing to a very public relationship — at least for a while. Besides, her ex Maks was The Bachelor in the Ukraine, and even though he didn’t leave with a fiancée, he used the experience to do some soul-searching. Karina could do the same on Bachelorette. And now that Maks is dating their fellow DWTS pro Peta Murgatroyd — and Karina helped Peta with her Season 14 winning Freestyle last spring — enough water may have gone under the bridge that there’s less awkwardness between Maks and Karina. He may even wish her well as the Bachelorette. Or smile when things get awkward on the show, as they always do.
If Karina doesn’t want to be the Season 9 Bachelorette, or if ABC does what it usually does and picks a past Bachelor contestant, maybe Karina could go back to staring atBachelorette Season 8 runner-up Arie Luyendyk, Jr. They do look good together...
What do you think? Would you like to see Karina as the next Bachelorette?
