The Voice Season 3 Contestant Liz Davis on Winning P. Diddy’s Starmaker: “Nothing Came Out of It”
When country cutie Liz Davis took to The Voicestage in Monday night’s blind audition episode, she may have been nervous, but considering she’s already won one reality show, probably not as nervous as some of the other contestants.
Four years ago, Liz was the winner of P. Diddy’s Starmaker, the less successful follow-up show to Making the Band. Being the only country competitor on that show, Liz’s win was impressive — but she wasn’t so thrilled with the aftermath.
“I have to say I learned so much about myself as an artist and I wouldn’t take it back for the world,” Liz told Wetpaint Entertainment. “Obviously, nothing came out of it. I’m still confused to this day as to why I didn’t hear from anybody after that show aired. But I can’t let it defeat me. I love music way too much. I’m 25 now and I feel like I got 40 years of experience in between Starmaker to right now. I had to give it one last shot for my dream.”
And she hopes to, once again, be a country winner. The Voice hasn’t seen any country singers make it to the finals yet, but Liz hopes to be that groundbreaking contestant this year on Team Blake.
