Is Paul Nassif Being Investigated by the Department of Children and Family Services?
Earlier this week, Adrienne Maloofmade a shocking claim in court that her estranged husband, Paul Nassif, had choked one of their sons. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was awarded temporary custody of the children and a restraining order against Paul. Radar Online obtained a sworn declaration from Dr. Charles Sophy, the Maloof-Nassif’s marriage counselor, about the incident.
It reads: " … Adrienne told me that Paul and the children were in the car when Paul became angry in response to Colin kicking Christian's seat, and that he tried to hit the kids while they were all in the car."
Dr. Sophy is currently the medical director for the County of Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services, though it’s not clear if he’s involved with the three children, Gavin, Christian, and Colin, in that capacity.
However, Dr. Sophy did say in his statement that when he met with the boys, “All three children appeared anxious and fearful. They are reluctant to share the details of what happened. … I further learned that prior to my meeting with the children on Tuesday, a referral was made to the Department of Children and Family Services. I feel that DCFS is capable of determining the safety and risk issues to be mitigated and ensuring the children's safety and health.”
RHoBH viewers may recognize Dr. Sophy’s name. He appeared in several episodes as Taylor Armstrong’s therapist.
