Just because Snooki is making millions off of Jersey Shore doesn’t mean that she can’t appreciate a good bargain.
The new mom took her love of saving money to Twitter yesterday (September 19) when she started talking to fans about how much she likes to bargain shop.
“I'm probably the best bargain shopper ever,” Snooki tweeted. When some haters inevitably decided to weigh in, Snooki was quick to explain her sensible fiscal habits.
“Ur rich tho [sic] who needs coupons,” one fan asked, to which Snooki responded, “I'm not rich, and everyone needs coupons.”
“I'm a cheap bastard,” she added.
While we agree the shopping with coupons is a smart move on Snooki’s part, we don’t agree that she is “not rich.” Snooki made over $150,000 per episode for Season 6 of Jersey Shore, and she’s been earning near that price per episode for the past few seasons. CelebrityNetWorth estimates that Snooki is worth between $2 to 4 million, which would definitely put her in the “rich” category.
We do know that Snooki loves to save money. She doesn’t yet own a house, instead choosing to live with Jionni’s family in suburban New Jersey. She also loves to make her own crafty creations, like hairbows and vases, which could save her some money. Plus, Snooki’s style isn’t exactly luxurious, her favorite brands include mid to low-priced clothiers like Jeffrey Campbell and Forever 21.
Whatever her reasons are for saving money, we think that Snooki’s thriftiness is one of her most admirable traits. With lots of reality stars (*cough*Real Housewives*cough*) going bankrupt from overspending beyond their means, it’s nice to meet a star who watches her pennies and saves up. Plus, that thriftiness will come in handy now that she has little Lorenzo to support and her Jersey Shore paycheck will dry up by the end of this year.
