Bones

Bones Season 8, Episode 2 Review: What Did You Think of “The Partners in the Divorce”?

After a very happy — and also quite sexy — reunion for Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) during last week’s Season 8 premiere, things seemed to be going very well for our favorite crime-fighting couple. Then, on this weeks Bones Season 8, Episode 2: "The Partners in the Divorce,” everything just fell apart.

Booth’s anger at Brennan for taking their daughter and ditching him for a life on the run finally started to boil over. Does he understand why Brennan had to do what she did? Sure. Does he agree that, from a logical standpoint, Dr. B’s choice was the right one to make? Yes. But that doesn’t mean her decision didn’t hurt him.

Brennan, too, is struggling. After three months on her own, she’s gotten used to doing things by herself again. Dr. B is a highly intelligent and extremely successful individual — and sometimes all of Booth’s well-intentioned attempts at taking care of her seem overbearing.

They bickered. They fought. And the fact that they spent the entire episode surrounded by divorce lawyers and divorcing couples certainly didn’t help.

Taking a moment to look past all that extra fighting, what did you think of this week’s episode as a whole? Seeing the entire team reunited and working in the field again was a welcome sight, and the gross outs at the crime scene definitely remind us of seasons past.

C’mon, Booth. Did you really have to go and get brain on your shoe? Way to contaminate the evidence.

I loved this episode!

Too much relationship drama for my tastes.
