Dancing With The Stars

Carrie Ann Inaba on DWTS All-Stars: “I’m Going to Have Way Higher Standards for the Dancers” – Exclusive

Dancing With the Stars Season 15 All-Stars premieres tonight (September 24) and we can barely contain our excitement! Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with judge Carrie Ann Inaba at the 2012 Entertainment Weekly Pre-Emmy party this weekend to talk All-Stars, the rumored new judging format, and the loss of the infamous “Dance Duel.”

Wetpaint Entertainment: Who is the couple to beat this season?
Carrie Ann Inaba: You got to watch until week nine! Plus I don’t know, there’s some good competitors! We got Emmett, we got Drew, we got Gilles, we got Shawn Johnson, we got Sabrina Bryan, we got Kirstie Alley, we got a lot of people.

Why won’t there be a dance duel this season?
I didn’t know there wasn’t going to be a dance duel! This is what is so great about being a judge on our show, no it’s true, they keep us so far removed from everybody else that we don’t really know what’s going on!

How will the judges approach this season differently?
I know for myself I intend to be much more….I’m going to have way higher standards for the dancers. Think of it as week 11 everybody, not week 1 because they’ve all been through week 1-10 before.

Can you explain how the judging will be recalibrated?
It hasn’t been recalibrated. I don’t think it’s going to be recalibrated, it’s the same thing 1-10.

Who do you think will be in the final three?
Oh God! I have no idea! I predict maybe an athlete, an athlete and a non-athlete.

Dancing With the Stars Season 15: All-Stars will premiere on Monday, September 24 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. Check out the full All-Stars cast list here.
