"Humans aren't perfect, and I think it was very brave of us to go that strong with our emotional connection about the dance," Pam told People of their routine to Amy Winehouse's "You Know I'm No Good." "I think there was a lot of good stuff about it. I take it seriously. I write down the song and think about my own personal experiences."
The judges were not that fond of the routine, giving it a total score of 17 out of 30, two points below the second lowest score. "Now we're underdogs," Pam told Zap2it. "We hope people were entertained enough to keep us on, because it's not always about the scores."
But it's not just the scores that affected them. Pamela and Tristan talked to On the Red Carpet about some of the judges' comments. Bruno Tonioli said the work wasn't there and Pam had to work harder. "I think the comments were a bit — 'Put in the hours! Put in the hours,'” Tristan told OTRC. “And I think that could suggest we actually aren't putting in the hours, and that's not the case. The case was, there was a lot of traveling the last couple of weeks — again no excuses — but I just feel as though it sounded like we weren't putting the work in. So I need to kind of reassure people that we certainly are putting in the work."
Pam said she does have to rehearse more and she plans to, if she makes it into next week.
One comment Tristan didn't mind was Len's comparison to Pamela as a kid on a bike when you take the training wheels off. That's what Tristan wants, arguing that she had the training wheels on Season 10 and now she's taking them off. She was shaky at first, but they will get better.
