Real Housewives of New York

Aviva Drescher Apologizes For Calling Ramona Singer an Alcoholic

In the most recent episode of The Real Housewives of New York (Season 5, Episode 17: “Don’t Make Room For Daddy”), Aviva Drescher and Ramona Singer’s feud reached epic levels when the two ladies met for an insult-laden brunch. Now, Aviva is publicly apologizing for some of the harsh things she said.

Aviva tells HollywoodLife that she is sorry for calling Ramona an alcoholic. “I said that in a moment of anger because Ramona had called my ex-husband fishing for info about my relationship with Reid and she was trying to call me a liar.”

As we pointed out recently, Aviva confessed in her Bravo blog that her mother had died of alcoholism six years ago, and that she’s extremely sensitive to people who drink heavily. She admits now, “I’m the last person who should be labeling anybody. I said that in response to her saying I’m not afraid of airplanes and I shot back and I’m sorry that I said that.”

Instead of moving on, however, Aviva takes one last dig at Ramona, who claimed that Aviva gave her diarrhea because of all the stress. “Maybe she has a stomach problem,” Aviva joked. “She brings it up all the time. She may have a stomach problem that needs to get investigated.”

As for the George/Ramona problem that started in the last episode after George demanded an apology from Ramona at her women-only event, Aviva promises that she will be confronting Ramona about it in the finale. We can’t wait!

The Real Housewives of New York Season 5 finale airs on Monday, October 1 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.
