Why Russell Brand Thought He and Katy Perry Needed a Divorce
Opposites may attract, but according to Russell Brand, they won’t stay together for the long haul.
In a recent interview with Australia’s 60 Minutes the out-there comedian admits that he and ex-wife Katy Perry were simply too different to make it work.
"Sometimes it goes well, sometimes it don't," Russell explained. "But if you sort of sense there's an incompatibility, then in any relationship regardless of the status of the individual, it kind of is best to go separate ways."
Apparently Russell now believes that couples with shared interests have a much better shot at survival.
"I think if you're someone who's really into mountain biking, it would be good to go out with someone who's into mountain biking, and if you're really into Eastern mysticism, go out with someone else who's into Eastern mysticism," he said. "I think if you're a devoted tennis professional and you get married to a crystal meth addict, you might have trouble. I've been in a lot of trouble."
If Russell’s words of wisdom are true, Katy Perry’s most recent relationship with Hollywood lothario John Mayer might be in trouble. For Katy’s sake, let’s just hope John has someinterest in oversized lollipops and glitter!
