Arizona’s Shocking Twist on Grey’s Anatomy Season 9: Love It or Hate It?

On the shocking Grey's Anatomy Season 9 premiere (Season 9, Episode 1: "Going, Going, Gone"), viewers and fans finally got to see what happened to Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) after the plane crash in the Season 8 finale. But were you satisfied with the result?

It turns out that Arizona is alive, but not well. Her leg has been amputated due to injuries sustained during the crash. Thirty days later, she is still wallowing in bed, and blames her wife Callie (Sara Ramirez) for her current state (as we’ll surely see more of, based on this promo for Season 9, Episode 2: “Remember the Time”). Anger plus depression plus helplessness do not add up to a pretty picture.

As Jessica Capshaw pointed out, she’s incredibly happy that her character didn’t die or, like the now-deceased Mark (Eric Dane), go into an irrevocable coma. But are you prepared for a season full of Calzona tension, physical therapy nightmares, and a long, slow recovery?

Tell us your reaction to Arizona’s fate in the reaction buttons below: Do you love it or loathe it?

Catch the next new episode of Grey’s Anatomy on Thursday, October 4 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
