Scandal Season 2 Spoilers: The Cast Spills on Olivia and Fitz, Quinn, and More — Exclusive

Scandal Season 2 premieres tonight, and we couldn't be more excited to return to Shonda Rhimes’s fast-paced, high-drama version of DC. Recently, Wetpaint Entertainment spoke to some of Scandal's stars at Paleyfest, and they dished some interesting tidbits about next season.

Who is Quinn? Bellamy Young (Mellie) spills that "we get to figure out who Quinn is in the very first act of the first show," but adds that the answer "pulls so many other things into question that that will really set a lot of arcs into motion."

Olivia and Fitz. Tony Goldwyn (President Fitzgerald) assures us that Fitz "is still desperately in love with Olivia," though he is also still "enraged" at her. "I won’t be able to stay away from her for long," he teases, adding that things will heat between them "sooner than you would expect."

But don't expect them to just hop into bed again: Kerry Washington (Olivia) notes that they are still "two people trying to do the right thing."

Mellie's big role. Expect to see more of the First Lady this season. Bellamy Young tells us that "Mellie isn’t necessarily creating the drama but Mellie will definitely be driving the train. So when an issue comes up at the White House Mellie knows how it should be handled and will make that it is handled accordingly." Or, as Tony Goldwyn puts it: "Mellie is going to go off the freakin’ deep-end."

Cyrus. Cyrus, meanwhile, is "in caregiver more," according to Jeff Perry (Cyrus). "I’m watching the President’s, really kind of mental and emotional health real closely."

Office politics. Meanwhile, Darby Stanchfield (Abby) hints that there are "craaaaazy office politics that happen in the second season," adding that "Scandal is a very gray world and it only gets more murky and more gray."

Reporting by Lindsey Jordahl.

Scandal Season 2 premieres tonight, September 27, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
