However, Melissa told Celebuzz she likes the idea of half-points for All-Stars, when the scores will probably stay very close. She and Tony have a Jive for their Week 2 dance, so maybe the half-points will help them tonight. Melissa said the routine requires so much energy that, after they’ve practiced it a couple of times, if they don’t eat enough they get the shakes. So on DWTS she’s enjoying the kind of diet she would probably avoid like the plague off the show.
“Here's the thing that's not fair,” Melissa told Celebuzz. “When you are dancing this much, all we do is, like, down protein bars and oatmeal — all the carbs and protein that you can get 'cause you feel it." Throw in some M&Ms! If it’s all going to be sweated out anyway, indulge!
Melissa and Tony have an easier vibe this season, just letting whatever happens happen, but Tony said there are two or three people in the All-Stars cast who are more stressed than the rest. Who is stressing particularly hard? “Gilles [Marini] is really taking it to heart,” Tony said. “I wish he would relax. He's a great dancer.”
Yeah, it doesn’t surprise us to hear Gilles is losing it a bit. Even just reading some of his interviews online or seeing him on camera, you can feel his nerves from being a presumed frontrunner. He’s always practicing and always repeating that he’s “Not a dancer! I’m not a dancer! I’ve never danced before!” We can imagine Drew Lachey is also stressing more than usual this week, since he and Anna Trebunskayaended up in the bottom two last time. They also have the Jive and Drew told On the Red Carpet he didn’t care if he bled out on that floor, he was going to do the best Jive humanly possible.
Who knew dancing was so stressful? They should all just try to have fun, eat some oatmeal and enjoy the ride. As Tony says, you can’t control what you can’t control!
