True Blood

What Does Alexander Skarsgard Think Is a “Huge Turn Off”?

For those looking to impress Alexander Skarsgard, flashy looks and confidence won’t win him over; in fact, they’re his biggest turn-offs.

When GQ asked our favorite True Blood vamp if self-deprecation is actually a Swedish aphrodisiac, he said yes, claiming that it’s a “very Nordic quality.”

To impress a Swede, A. Skars claims, “You definitely don't want to brag. You definitely don't want to show up in a yellow Lamborghini or talk about how successful you are. That's a huge turn off.”

Although he was talking about men impressing Swedish women, we’re sure it’s a two-way street. For Alex, “Humility goes a long way.”

And as gorgeous and talented as he is, Alexander has remained humble through the years — even now, when his face is plastered on billboards around the world for his new Encounter by Calvin Klein fragrance campaign.

“I just walked by that freaking billboard and it's surreal, seeing yourself the size of Godzilla,” he said. “It’s f—king surreal.”

Considering that he has a few films due out this year, he has plenty more posters and billboards to come — but that still doesn’t make it any easier for the humble guy.

“I don't think I'll ever get used to that. It's the same thing when you're in a movie or when the show premieres every year and you see your face — it's surreal,” he continued. “And I think it has to be. And I want it to be that way. The day it's not, you're in trouble."
