Grey’s Anatomy’s Shonda Rhimes Sells Two New Projects to ABC

Grey's Anatomy’s Shonda Rhimes is branching out: Shondaland is doing comedy! And comedic drama? We’ll take it.

Deadline reports that Shonda Rhimes’ company has sold two new projects to ABC. The first is Shondaland’s first ever half-hour comedy, I Hate L.A. Dudes, written by Issa Rae. The show focuses around an aspiring female journalist who moves to the City of Angels and ends up as the only female on a very male-driven Internet talk show. But her biggest challenge? Taking on the California dating scene.

And then as a way to branch its specialty with its new endeavor, Shondaland also sold ABC The Mix, a comedic drama written by John Hoffman. The show gives a behind-the-scenes look into the lives of five women who star on a talk show reminiscent of The Talk or The View.

Well, Shondaland is definitely trying something new, and we can’t wait to see what happens with these shows! Are you interested enough to watch a Shondaland comedy (or a comedic drama)?

Catch the next new episode of Grey’s Anatomy on Thursday, October 4 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
