Jacqueline Laurita on Her Autistic Son Nicholas: He Is “Looking Right Into My Eyes, Not Talking”

Hands down, the most emotional segment in part one of The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 4 Reunion was the montage Bravo played about Jacqueline Laurita’s now 3-year-old son, Nicholas.

The piece began with Jacqueline’s struggle to get pregnant again after four miscarriages, showed footage of Nick just days after he was born, and also demonstrated how the once vivacious toddler slowly began to regress and withdraw from family and friends.

Nothing was more heartbreaking than the conclusion of the montage, though, which showed a picture of Jacqueline and Nick walking as Nick can be heard saying “I love you” in the background, a phrase aunt Caroline Manzo quickly explained Nick can no longer say.

Just hearing Nick say “I love you” on the video sent Jac into a fit of hysterics.

However, before the reunion even aired on Sunday, Jacqueline tweeted a few updates and sweet observations about her son. “Nicholas, with his big blue eyes, is looking right into my eyes, not talking, but telling me everything. I know exactly what I need to do,” she wrote on Sept. 28.

And on Sept. 30, Jacqueline shared that Nick had picked up a new hobby. “Nicholas is really loving playing piano right now. He really knows what he's doing. It sounds good! Lessons are definitely in the future!”

As hard as it was to see Jacqueline in such pain after the reunion montage, we’re glad she remains dedicated to fighting for her son.
