Pretty Little Liars Writer on Spoby: “[SPOILER] Is Never Pointless”

It's a hard time to be a Spoby shipper. The couple that seemed like one of the surest romantic bets on Pretty Little Liars was completely thrown out the window when Toby (Keegan Allen) was revealed to be part of the "A" team in Season 3, Episode 12: “The Lady Killer.”

And yet, the writers can't stop teasing Spoby lovers via Twitter, hinting at the possibility of things working out.

We feel like we've rehashed every angle of the current Spoby debate to death. Is he part of the "A" team as an undercover agent trying to take them down, or are his motivations more sinister? The writers have suggested his feelings for Spencer (Troian Bellisario) are genuine, but does that mean there's hope for the ‘ship? The writers have told fans to trust them, but does that mean this story has a happy ending?

Well, here's the latest Spoby-related message, from writer Andy Reaser: "Hope is never pointless."

What do you think guys: Is this a good sign, or are the writers just stringing shippers along?
