5 Best Castle and Beckett Moments From Castle Season 5, Episode 2: “Cloudy With a Chance of Murder”
This week’s episode of Castle was chock-full of Caskett moments, both good and rocky, for these starry-eyed lovebirds. The case, itself, however almost paralleled real life with the implication of a workplace romance that ends in betrayal and murder.
Despite some steamy, Castle and Beckett-less scenes — and a jealous Beckett to boot! — we says let’s focus on the moments that ensure Castle and Beckett are here to stay, always and forever.
Take a peek at some of the best Caskett moments from Monday night’s episode. Be sure to add your favorites in the comments down below.
5. Becket Questions Her Secret Relationship!
After TV reporter Miles Haxton explains his secret romance with Mandy, this week’s victim, Beckett can’t help but imagine the downfall her own relationship could be subject to. Even though they are in the new dangerous, yet equally exciting honeymoon stage, she thinks that after a while, it could all end. Enter Castle to make her feel better with some witty banter, saying that if they start drowning in a “sea of lies,” he knows mouth-to-mouth.
It’s jokes like these that we hope will fuel their never-ending spark for many episodes to come.
4. They (Kinda) Admit They Were Never Just Friends!
No one’s buying the story of the weather girl and the pro basketball player being “just friends,” least of all Beckett. Castle seems to think differently, providing their four-year relationship as a perfect example. But Beckett quickly calls Castle on it, saying that he was trying to sleep with her the entire time. Or was it the other way around?
Let’s be real: They aren’t fooling anyone, no matter how hard they try.
No, we’re not talking about when she's screaming at Castle to decline the date from Kristina, the bikini-clad entertainment reporter. Beckett could have strangled Castle. This list is all about heart-warming moments, remember?
Usually it's Castle’s antics that get under Beckett’s skin, but this time it’s Castle himself, and in a good way. Beckett chats with Esposito about the case, and suddenly catches a glimpse of her main squeeze playing with the green screen. She lets out a few endearing smiles and laughs and, at one point, loses her train of thought. Looks like Beckett has a soft spot of Castle’s boyish behavior.
2. Beckett Forgives Castle For the Date!
Detective Beckett’s letting her guard down, and with that comes the possibility of having her heart broken. Even when she catches Castle and Hottie McHottstuff kissing, she doesn’t immediately seek revenge. Instead, it’s the look of sheer disappointment that broke our hearts.
But Castle always pulls through in the end. He apologizes to Beckett for being an idiot going on a date with Kristina in the first place. This just unleashes a wave of insecurity out of Becks, as she starts second guessing herself, and Castle.
It’s Castle who puts her at ease, saying people could find out and they could indeed implode, or it could be amazing. We might not know what’s in store for Caskett, but more moments like this are welcomed with open arms.
1. Castle and Beckett Kiss Goodbye!
Beckett frantically tries to de-sexify herself for her first day back at work, and Castle is not helping. A text comes in that there has been a murder, and it’s go-time for these two. Just as Beckett is about to head out of her apartment, she wraps her arms around Castle’s neck, tells him to act normal (after all, they are single in public), and indulges in a sweet morning liplock.
