Hunger Games Update: Mockingjay Screenwriter Chosen, Say Sources

The second installment of the smash-hit Hunger Games movie series, Catching Fire, is still filming, but it's never too early to start looking ahead.

According to Variety, a writer has been chosen to adapt the third and final book in the series, Mockingjay, and the selected writer makes our geeky hearts happy!

Sources tell Variety that writer-actor Danny Strong has been tapped for the gig. So far, Lionsgate has declined to comment, but this selection makes sense. After all, Danny just won an Emmy for penning HBO's TV-movie Game Change, a political drama which, though very different from The Hunger Games, was also adopted from a book. The movie also took home Outstanding Miniseries, amongst other awards.

You might also know Danny from his various acting gigs. Perhaps most famously he played geek-turned-villain Jonathan Levinson on Buffy; he also had notable roles on Gilmore Girls and Mad Men.

What do you think: Is Danny a good choice, or were you hoping for someone else?
