But then they didn’t leave. In the first shocking elimination of Season 15 (that didn't take long), Joey Fatone &Kym Johnson were eliminated — and Bristol and Mark weren’t even in the bottom two.
"I'm so thankful to be on the next week," Bristol told On the Red Carpet after the Results Show. "I know we had the lowest scores, but thankfully we had the fans' votes and they got us through this week."
So who are these fans and why are they voting to support Bristol?
"I think it's because she's relatable," Mark said. "She's improved a lot. I think she's dancing to a much higher standard than she did last time and I think a lot of people — normal folks — find that appealing." She doesn't have an entertainment background, he said, so people can relate to what she's trying to do.
Bristol does seem to be a different person, even though circumstance are repeating themselves from DWTSSeason 11. This time she is older, more mature, and more confident in her dancing — especially during her Week 1 Cha-Cha-Cha, which was markedly better than most of what she did two years ago. She wasn’t at her best on Week 2, but maybe Mark is right and some viewers are supporting her attempts to break out of her shell and improve.
Are you Team Bristol?
