Taylor Swift Loves ABC’s Nashville, Knows Hayden Panettiere Isn’t Playing “Sinister” Version of Her
Did you know that Taylor Swift and Hayden Panettiere are neighbors? That's one hot 'burb!
It also comes in handy when you need to quickly defuse a rumor — like the one that Heroes alum Hayden is playing a nasty version of Taylor in ABC's upcoming show Nashville.
On the show — which we can't wait to watch when it premieres on October 10 — Hayden plays former teen star and up-and-coming country singer Juliette Barnes, who tries to take the place of legendary singer Rayna James (the amazing Connie Britton!), whose own star is starting to fade.
Hayden's character is young, has curly blonde hair, wears sparkly dresses, doesn’t have the strongest voice and is adored by pop-loving teens. Plus, "Juliette" could be a play on Taylor's Romeo & Juliet "Love Story.” Based on that, the story has spread that she's based on Taylor. But Taylor knows that isn't true.
"[Hayden] pulled me aside and said, 'I need to talk to you! I need to tell you that my character's not based on you,'" Taylor told Zap2it. "And I said, 'I know, Hayden. I saw the pilot. It's amazing.' I think she did an incredible job of being sinister and adorable at the same time, and we had a hilarious conversation about it.’”
So there we go! Besides, as one fan noted in the comments under this preview, Nashville is kind of like Country Strong on TV. If anyone wants to feel imitated, maybe it should be Gwyneth Paltrow and Leighton Meester.
