The Situation Fights Back Against Sober Relapse Charge: I Was Not Drinking

The Situation has openly struggled with drug issues, but new reports of him dropping his newfound sobriety just aren’t true — at least according to his rep.

News broke earlier today that the Jersey Shore had been spotted drinking at parties at various nightclubs and that he drank so much that he “could barely stand” during a night out at The London Hotel on September 26. However, Mike’s rep has shot back at the rumors of him going back to his old ways.

"He was not drinking," Mike’s rep told RadarOnline. "He was at the cabanas at the pool at the London with about 12 people. There was a pitcher of sangria there for the other guests but he did not drink anything alcoholic."

Mike maintained his sobriety when he appeared on Ellen with his Jersey Shore co-stars Ronnie and Pauly D earlier this week (before the story broke), who said that they liked having Mike sober.

“I was happy to see that he went to rehab and when he came back I had my best friend back,” Pauly D said during the interview.

The Sitch has been spotted at several nightclubs since he got back from rehab, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he is drinking. Since Mike is a celebrity who is in demand for club appearances, he is probably just going to the clubs as part of his work, not to get drunk. After all, we saw Mike and then-pregnant Snooki go to clubs while filming Jersey Shore Season 6 earlier this year and there were no reports of either of the two sober buddies drinking during that time.

The Situation entered rehab in March of this year. He later revealed that he was in rehab for an addiction to prescription pills.

Whatever the case, we just hope that The Situation is staying healthy and happy.

Jersey Shore Season 6 will premiere on Thursday, October 4 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.
