Grey’s Anatomy Creator Shonda Rhimes Finalizes Adoption of Her Baby Daughter
As some Grey's Anatomyfans already know, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek's (Patrick Dempsey) struggle to adopt Zola during Season 8 is a story that's near and dear to show creator Shonda Rhimes's heart, as she is an adoptive mother of two herself. Shonda adopted her first daughter, Harper, in 2002. Shonda officially announced that she was adopting her second baby girl, Emerson Pearl, in April 2012.
The adoption process isn't easy for anyone, not even a high-powered, multi-show running woman like Shonda, so we were thrilled to see Shonda tweet late yesterday (October 23), "Tiny Human #2's adoption was finalized today! BEST DAY EVER!!"
Yay! We're so glad everything worked out for Shonda and little Emerson Pearl. Also, how cute is it that Shonda calls her kids tiny humans?
