Justin Bieber Refused to [Spoiler] For His New Music Video — And It Took the Director an Hour to Finally Convince Him To!
We're guessing that "Shark Week" is not something that Justin Bieber looks forward to watching year after year.
The Biebs tells ET Online that he was terrified to film a scene in a recent music video that required him to swim with sharks. "I'm terrified of sharks," Justin says. "I was so scared. I hate sharks. It took, like, an hour for me to even jump in the water."
Frankly, we can't say we blame the poor guy. Luckily, he was finally willing to get in the water, and having female dancers in the water with him certainly didn't hurt. "Being with the ladies under there kind of made it a lot better," he admits. (Uh-oh, Selena!)
So why exactly did the video shoot involve sharks if Justin is deathly afraid of them? Well, that would be the fault of director Jon Chu, who also directed Justin's film Never Say Never. "He was pretty scared, which was awesome," Jon says. "I had to jump in with him to make sure he knew it was safe and he wasn't going to get bitten."
Wait — so Jon thinks it was "awesome" that Justin was practically about to pass out from fear? That sounds kinda messed up, if you ask us.
