Once Upon a Time

Once Upon a Time Season 2, Episode 2: “We Are Both” Review: What Did You Think?

What did you think of Once Upon a Time Season 2, Episode 2: “We Are Both”? We learned so much about Storybrooke, including what happens when you try to leave, how Regina/The Evil Queen (Lana Parrilla) gets her magic back, and what happened to August Booth/Pinocchio (Eion Bailey).

This post contains spoilers from Once Upon a Time Season 2, Episode 2: “We Are Both” (airing October 7). If you haven’t seen the episode yet, you’ve been warned! For more on Wetpaint Entertainment's philosophy on spoilers, click here.

While we didn’t revisit current-day Fairytale Land, we did get to find out how Rumplestiltskin and Regina first met. It turns out that Rumple taught her mother Cora dark magic. In a roundabout way, Regina isn’t at fault for her evil side, because she didn’t have much of a chance with Cora as a mother.

In Storybrooke, David/Prince Charming (Josh Dallas) tried his best to keep everyone afloat and in good spirits. Sneezy lost his Fairytale Land memories after he tried to leave town, and Charming convinced everyone that they shouldn’t try the same.

Regina got her magic back with her mother’s old spell book, which she got from Mr. Gold in his shop. She threatens the town with it, and Henry Mills (Jared Gilmore) sacrifices himself to make her stop. Ultimately, Regina decides she doesn’t want to be like her mother, and she lets Henry stay with David.
