RHONY’s Carole Radziwill Defends Herself: It’s Called a Sense of Humor, Ladies

On the The Real Housewives of New York Season 5 Reunion Part 1, someone actually had the nerve to stand up to cool and calm Carole Radziwill. Did she handle it with grace like a Princess? Or did she buckle under the pressure?

Countess LuAnn de Lesseps brought up the dress-borrowing incident first, which actually has two versions now. In LuAnn’s version, she had a very delightful time visiting Carole’s friend Naeem Kahn’s studio. She says that Naeem offered LuAnn dress for an event or for a photo shoot in the future, and she thought this was a great idea.

In Carole’s version (which she explains in her newest Bravo blog), LuAnn impolitely asked Naeem if she could borrow one of his dresses, and it was not a delightful time.

But Carole also took some heat from the other ladies, mainly about her confessional interviews. Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan, and LuAnn said they were all offended and disappointed when they saw what Carole was telling the camera, since they had no idea she was feeling that way at the time.

Carole handled those accusations fairly well on the reunion, but she summed up her defense on Twitter: “I mean if you don’t have a sense of humor you are on the wrong show, no?” Carole also tweeted a question for viewers, “Poll Question: Is it Sarcasm or Humor? I mean its not Knock Knock jokes I try to be a little more intelligent I don't always succeed. Lol.”

In her blog, she says that anything she said during the confessionals and online does not count as talking behind someone’s back. “What we say in interviews and our blogs is not behind anyone or anything, it’s public. It’s for the whole world to watch or read if they care to.”

What do you think? Were Carole’s remarks derogatory and behind the backs of the other women? Or was Carole simply being funny and open about what she thought? Tell us in the comments!

The Real Housewives of New York Season 5 Reunion: Part 2 airs on Monday, October 15 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.
