The Voice Season 3: Best Performance of the Night From Battle Round 1 on October 8, 2012 (VIDEO)

Last night was the first night of battle rounds on The Voice Season 3. And after practically falling asleep from our blind auditions hangovers, these rockin’ duets grabbed our attention and kept it for a full two hours.

We saw cowboys take on Scottish rockers, and cheered as some of our favorites were given a second chance with the new “steal” option.

But one performance had the crowd, judges, and audiences across America covered in goosebumps from a purely electric blend. NBC made the brilliant decision to put this particular battle at the end of the episode, and we can’t imagine any duet topping it this season.

Former gospel singer Amanda Brown went up against the shy yet powerful Trevin Hunte on Mariah Carey’s “Vision of Love.” Coach Cee Lo Green admitted he originally picked the duo because he didn’t realize Amanda had such strength, but she shocked him with her strong vocals.

In the end, Cee Lo’s decision had little significance, because all of the judges were eager to steal whichever contestant lost the battle. And when it came time, Cee Lo kept Trevin on his team, Amanda swapped onto Team Adam, and all was right with the world.

We think Amanda and Trevin’s performance was the best of the night. What about you? Watch the video and tell us what you think below!
