Keo gave Wetpaint Entertainment the lowdown on Deena’s dramatic transformation. Wetpaint Entertainment: Deena looks amazing. But she looks so unlike her normal self, people think she had surgery. Do you take that as an insult or a compliment? Keo: It’s a good sign and I definitely take it as a compliment. We took a very different approach to her makeup application and she looked amazing. What has been the biggest change you made? In the past, her makeup had been consistent to her Jersey Shore look and she wanted to go for something fresher. So the biggest thing we did is soften everything up. Can you break down how you did that? Sure. Instead of heavy black eyeliner on both the top and bottom, we still use black on top, but it’s a very thin line with a little wing on the end. On the bottom, now use more muted colors like browns, blues or grays. It creates a much softer look. When it comes to shadows, we keep it neutral with grays and stones. The lines I like to use on her are Trish McEvoy, Make Up Forever and Mally. When it comes to bronzer, we now tread VERY carefully. We don’t want a shimmer, we want a matte. Otherwise, she looks overdone and too “Jersey Shore.” Same with her cheek color, we don’t want anything too pink or sparkly. We use a very pretty peach color with maybe a hint of shimmer. MAC is one of the brands I like. The only thing we’ve kept dramatic is her lashes. Deena loves her lashes. But instead of a double strip of them, we only use one. Ardell is the brand we prefer. And in terms of lips, we keep it nude with maybe a red, peachy liner to really make her mouth pop. Nars has some really fantastic shades these days. Is Deena able to replicate the look herself when you’re not around to help her? Yes, that’s the great part of it. Even when I’m not there, she now knows to keep it really simple. With the Jersey Shore in its final season, do you think the timing was right for her to debut a new look? Definitely. She was ready for it. The haircut, the weight loss, the makeup, all of it. She’s ready to show the world a different side of her.
