How Hayden Panettiere Was Inspired by Carrie Underwood For Nashville

After all the buzz, Nashville will finally premiere tonight on ABC. (Yay!)

Hayden Panettiere and Connie Britton talked to USA Today about the show, dismissing comparisons between their characters and Taylor Swift or Faith Hill.

"Taylor's known to be a very nice person and handles herself well," Hayden said of her own neighbor, who said she loves the show and knows the character isn’t meant to be a nasty version of her.

However, Hayden did say she found some inspiration from a blond, curly-haired, sparkly-dressed American Idol winner named Carrie Underwood. "She's one of those girls that doesn't do the whole dancing-around-choreography thing but has that stage presence like no other,” Hayden said of Carrie. “She can just stand there and be incredibly interesting."

So we should probably expect Hayden's not-so-nice Nashville character, Juliette Barnes, to have that same kind of stage presence.

Are you planning to watch the premiere tonight?
