Glee’s Lea Michele Records an Inspiring Video Message For “It Gets Better”

Lea Michele (Rachel) has inspired us all with her amazing performances and fab style on Glee. Now, she’s providing inspiration in a different way.

Lea has recorded a video message for “It Gets Better,” which is an Internet outreach project geared toward helping LGBT teens. “There are people who love you and admire you just as you are, so surround yourself with people who love you and will support you,” Lea says in the video.

Glee is all about embracing who you are, and Lea hopes people can learn to do the same. “Growing up can be tough, and everyone’s trying to fit in, and sometimes you might feel like there’s no allowance for you to be yourself,” she continues. “When you learn to accept yourself and appreciate all of the things that make you different and unique, that’s when it will get better.”

Lea isn’t the only familiar face to have reached out to teens through “It Gets Better.” Chris Colfer recorded a video for the project in 2010, and other celebrities who have contributed include Lady Gaga, Ashley Tisdale, and President Obama.

In other words: You’re on the right track, baby you were born this way.
