Happy Anniversary, Glee! Its Very First Scene Filmed 4 Years Ago
Happy Birthday to... Glee! Exactly four years ago today, the hit FOX comedy filmed its very first scene. And it’s sort of a scandalous one, too.
On October 11, 2012, Glee writer Michael Hitchcock tweeted, “Four years ago today the first scene ever shot for Glee: Will reveals the weed he supposedly found in Finn's locker.”
Ah, we remember that fateful moment like it was yesterday. Will (Matthew Morrison) knows that Finn (Cory Monteith) has a killer voice, but there’s no way he’s going to be able to convince a cool football jock to join his nerdy little glee club.
The only conceivable solution? Planting marijuana in Finn’s locker, “discovering” it, and forcing the poor kid to join glee club as punishment.
Hey, whatever gets the job done, right? We just hope Finn doesn’t decide to employ any of the same methods with newbie football jock Ryder (Blake Jenner) when he takes over as temporary glee club lead. (Mr. Schue taught you a lot of valuable lessons, Finn. That was not one of them.)
Huge congrats to Glee on reaching such a big milestone. Say it with us: Four more years!
