Vampire Diaries Season 4 Premiere Spoiler Roundup and Episode Guide

It’s here! It’s here! Happy Vampire Diaries Season 4 premiere today! The show returns tonight at 8:00 p.m., and it’s a whole new ballgame. Spoilers ahead!

To get ready for Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) transition, check out all the promos, photos, and spoilers below!

First of all, we got ahold of the first two episodes, and they are as thrilling as everyone’s promised. And while there are a lot of surprises we can’t tell you about (like that mysterious return visitor), there are tons of teases to whip your TVD-loving heart into a frenzy.

Tyler’s had his body taken over by Klaus (Joseph Morgan) — that guy just loves jumping inside other people’s bones — and Michael Trevino is wicked as he smirks at Caroline (Candice Accola), and especially when things reach critical mass, as Hollywood Life points out.

Elena is going to be in sensory overload, as you can see from this preview clip. “Your emotions are heightened” is a phrase that gets thrown around a lot in this episode, and Nina Dobrev talked about hysterically crying in an interview with E! Online.

Damon (Ian Somerhalder) takes his anger issues out on Matt (Zach Roerig). The elder Salvatore is none-too-pleased that Elena is on the verge of vamping out, and he thinks Stefan (Paul Wesley) saved the wrong person.

Meanwhile, Stefan and Bonnie (Kat Graham) try to prevent Elena from going over to the other side. Get ready for some nosebleeds, because the witch is committing suicide, via magic, to bring her bestie back. As you can see from the promo photos, Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) is there to help. (He’s not so keen on Elena turning, either.)

An unrepentant Rebekah (Claire Holt) still thinks her brother is dead, but she gets in big trouble when she does something naughty.

There’s a big, overarching evil this season. Is it the Council? The new hunter? Something else? That, we cannot say.

So, does Elena end up becoming a vampire? Well, you can read some spoilers for Season 4, Episode 2, “Memorial” to find out, but Stefan does give her a daylight ring.
