Glee Season 4 Spoilers: Did Everyone Really Break Up For Good?

We knew Glee Season 4, Episode 4 “The Break-Up” was going to be hard to watch — we just didn’t know how much it would hurt once it was over. If you’re feeling half as upset as we are about the demise of Brittana (or are still in denial about it) and Finchel and the possible end of Klaine... well, we’ll see you in the corner of our couch. We’ll be the ones with the lights off, bawling and screaming to the heavens (aka Glee writers) about it.

But before you sell all of your possessions and wander the ends of the earth looking for answers to how this could happen (Craigslist ad canceled), we have some hope for you.

TV Line’s Michael Ausiello talked to executive producer Brad Falchuk about the relationships and it seems like things might not be as bad as they seem. In fact, Brad told him that that these relationships “aren’t necessarily over for good.”

“Nothing is set in stone,” Brad said. “For now things are different. But that there’s an enormous amount of love there, so there’s a great chance of a lot of them getting back together.” He further explains that the goal of the episode was to “shake everything up,” which just seems cruel.

YIPPEE!! Consider us backing away from the ledge. Even stars Cory Monteith (Finn) and Darren Criss (Blaine) weighed in on the life-altering episode. Cory says he’s “nostalgic” about the relationship between Rachel (Lea Michele) and Finn (Cory Monteith) and that “there’s real doubt as to whether or not they’ll get back together again.” Real doubt, you say? Hmm. That sounds ominous.

Darren says that he “was certainly as sad as any fan of the couple” when his character, Blaine, and Kurt (Chris Colfer) seemed to head down a one way path to splitsville. “But,” adds Darren, “they established something so real and I think lasting, regardless of what happens next.”
