Top 4 OMG Moments From Gossip Girl Season 6 Episode 2 “High Infidelity” — What’s the Plural of Fashion Faux Pas?
Now that Blair (Leighton Meester) is running Eleanor Waldorf’s label, we expect her to be amazingly clad at all times. But in Gossip GirlSeason 6, Episode 2, we had some strange spikes of joy — Serena’s (Blake Lively) beautiful blue dress — and blinding hatred (where do we start?). Adding to our confusing rollercoaster of emotions? An actual face-punching fight, a complete blonde moment of obliviousness, and a familial showdown to remember.
1. Fashion fights back. Not every outfit needs to be a homerun, but we were blacked-out with rage at seeing Blair in a muted, flower print accordion pleat skirt, awkwardly-draped belted flower-print short-sleeve jacket, bedazzled headband, and hot pink and teal shiny sandals. It was all just so... first season. We hope this isn’t what costume designer Eric Daman meant about fashion coming “full circle.” Same goes for Blair’s minions’ neon printed skirts, clashing blazers, multiple chunky necklaces, and proximity to one another (and Blair) in said outfits. So, we can understand that maybe Lily(Kelly Rutherford) needs a little bliss with her AM ignorance. But, when Bart threatens Amira while the family exchanges pleasantries around the crepe tray, it’s a little hard for us to accept that Lily wouldn’t react just a tad.
3. Steven serves Nate a knuckle sandwich! When he saw Sage (Sophia Black-D’Elia) and Nate (Chace Crawford) canoodling, Steven (Barry Watson) used all of his tie-less (seriously, there are people in actual tuxedos — loop a Windsor or something) strength to punch N right in his beautiful Chace face. We suppose it’s fair that when you see your 17-year-old daughter getting physical, you may lose your Poughcool.
4. Chuck mistakes Bart for Blair — right? We’ve always been secretly turned on by both Basses, so watching them square off is one of those things we need to witness while alone. Chuck (Ed Westwick) tells his dad, “Now I’m going to find your secret, and take everything from you,” and we can imagine a little role playing of him telling Blair just that...
