Christina Aguilera on Her Nude Album Cover: “I Actually Feel Very Covered”
In less than a month, Christina Aguilera’s first album in more than two years will hit the shelves. Lotus has become one of the most highly-anticipated records of the year due, in part, to Xtina’s impressive stint on The Voice.
Similar to fellow coach Adam Levine and his band Maroon 5’s latest album, Overexposed, Christina’s new music is set to have much publicity and success in the coming year. But until it’s released, the majority of the focus has been shifted onto the diva’s provocative album art.
On the cover, Xtina is rising out of a lotus flower without any clothes on and with her flowing locks covering “the girls.” But according to a recent interview with People Magazine, Christina doesn’t view herself as being naked.
"It's very interesting, because I don't see that album cover as being nude at all," she said. "I actually feel very covered and it's all about embracing white light and freedom, and I didn't want it to be about too much fashion. I wanted it to be raw, real, and free and a celebration of life and the woman I've become."
And Christina has no problem loving her curvaceous body.
"I embrace my body, and I embrace everything about myself,” she continued. “Coming full circle is a celebration of freedom and happiness because that's what [my new album] Lotus is representing. I'm embracing everything that I've grown to be and learned to be."
