The Voice Season 3: Best Performance of the Night From Battle Round 4 on Oct. 16, 2012 (VIDEO)

Last night’s hour of battle rounds on The Voice Season 3 whizzed by so quickly that it was easy to blink and miss a performance. Since most of the song choices were Top 40 hits, it was even tougher for the contestants to impress us, but there were a few standout performances.

The first and most impressive battle of the night was the episode’s only country tune, with Liz Davis and Nicole Johnson tackling, “Baggage Claim,” by Blake Shelton’s wife, Miranda Lambert.

The country gals were a great match, sounding “slightly alike” (according to Adam Levine) and finding the perfect harmonies. The young singers stayed strong from start to finish, lighting up the stage with excited energy and powerful vocals. However, at the end of the performance, Liz took the crown because of Nicole’s lack of breath control.

No one stole Nicole, but she kept it together until the cameras followed her off-stage. But hey, maybe next year she’ll come back and smash the competition!
