Kirstie Alley Says Fans’ Prayers Helped Her Sick Dog, So She Returns Favor
Behold the power of prayer! But, best to behold it when combined with modern medicine — and hopefully pet insurance.
Kirstie Alley has been close to the bottom a couple of times this week — first at the actual bottom of the judges' leaderboard on Dancing With the StarsSeason 15All-Stars, Week 4. She and Maksim Chmerkovskiy managed to survive the bottom two, and Kirstie thanked her fans on Twitter while asking them to work together to help her with something even more important.
"My dog May needs your prayers," Kirstie tweeted on Tuesday, after the Results Show. "She just came out of a difficult surgery 20 minutes ago.. She is my beloved. Thank you... she means the world to me and my family." Fans started sharing prayers and she wrote, "Thank you!! With prayers like this I feel confident May will be fine... thank you more than You will ever know...thank you." Not too long after that she updated with "May came out of the anesthetic well..her vital signs are good..your prayers are working.. we'll just keep going... thank you.. prayer power."
A bit later, she added, "May Report: She's doing REALLY well!!!... She's higher than a kite on pain meds but she's getting better by the hour... thank u a million!!" So she decided to pay it forward, writing, "Now... who needs my prayers so I can put in a fair exchange to you who are in need?"
Amid some of her prayer retweets, she added, "How's this? I have all of you in my grateful prayers tonight... I wish for nothing but the best for each of you..:)" Then, on a different note, she suggested, "FYI pet owners: It's wise to get pet insurance ..it's about $20 a month and can save you many thousands in case of major illness. XXO."
Wise tip! Prayers, good vibes and friend support can work wonders, but when the vet's bill comes in the mail, it won't cure itself.
