Lana Parrilla Poses For NOH8 Campaign, Continues to Support Gay Rights
There are a lot of people in Storybrooke who would love to see Regina's mouth taped shut, but the decidedly non-evil actress who plays her on Once Upon a Time — Lana Parrilla — did it for a cause close to her heart.
Lana is one of the latest famous names to pose for the NOH8 Campaign, which was created in response to the passage of Proposition 8 in California, which amended the state's Constitution to ban same-sex marriage. You've probably seen other celebrities pose with duct tape over their mouths, which is meant to symbolize voices being silenced by Prop 8 and other legislation of its kind.
Lana has long been outspoken in her support for the gay community. She recently taped a video with the Huffington Post, telling them, "I have a lot of LGBT friends and family members and I've always supported the community, not only as a child but as an adult. And I think it's important to voice that, especially as a celebrity. We have such an incredible opportunity to be a role model to the youth and a lot of the people out there. It's important to show our support in anything that we strongly believe in."
Lana for President! Seriously, is it too late to start a write-in campaign?
