Top 5 WTF Moments From Castle Season 5, Episode 4: “Murder, He Wrote”

Who isn’t obsessed with Castle this season? Seriously, the show is killing it, no pun intended, and this episode is no exception. But a handful of times, we had to scratch our heads because something is a little off.

Here are the top WTF moments from Castle Season 5, Episode 4: “Murder He Wrote.”

5. Alexis Returns So Soon!

We weren’t all that concerned about never seeing Alexis turn up in future Castle episodes, but we didn’t think she would return home so quickly. Like, the very next episode.

If she came home to do laundry, that’s one thing. But how many times did you wander back home on purpose? It’s a Friday afternoon. There must be better ways to spend it than critiquing your dad on his lack of weekend preparation with his new girlfriend.

4. There Aren’t Any Police Resources in the Hamptons!

When Beckett finds out that only one police officer is canvassing the area for clues, Chief Brady says that there just aren’t any resources.

Though this falls under the minute detail category, we have to wonder exactly what happens up there. Expect an influx for robbers if they get wind of this.

3. Vinnie “The Scar” Files a Complaint Against Franklin!

Last time we checked, crime families don’t file complaints. They simply umm … handle the matter.

2. Chief Brady Uses Google!

Forget those fancy police databases that can run a full background check on someone in milliseconds and probably tell the police what you had for breakfast that morning. That’s too much of a hassle. Chief Brady uses what we all use to find out information on someone: Google.

He probably checked LinkedIn first, but Beckett’s profile was tagged as private.

1. Someone Other Than Martha, Alexis, and Ryan Might Know!

Ryan was hellbent on finding out who Beckett was dating at the beginning of the episode. When he finds out it’s Castle, he gives up, leaving Esposito confused. Ryan says that Beckett deserves her privacy.

But, if we aren’t mistaken, Lanie tried to get all in Beckett’s business a few episodes ago, and all of the sudden, questioned why Ryan and Esposito wanted to know so badly. She, too, told them that Beckett should have some privacy in that matter. She also makes it very clear on the phone with Castle that she has nothing to do with the conversation about Beckett’s boyfriend, possibly knowing that Beckett is listening.

Coincidence in the similarity of Ryan and Lanie’s dismissal of Beckett’s private life? Maybe. But maybe not.
