After previewing Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 2, “Memorial,” we can tell you that the new vampire hunter Connor (Todd Williams) is scary as heck. He’s as far from an Alaric (Matt Davis) substitute as you can get, and that means you should be fearing for the safety of all your favorite vamps, hybrids, humans, fluffy kittens, and deer. (Oh wait. That’s Elena who’s endangering the last group.) Nonetheless, we have five reasons to fear Connor. Buckle up!

Joseph Morgan (Klaus) wants to be him.
At Dragon*Con 2012, J. Morg said if he wasn’t playing Klaus, he’d love to step into Connor’s boots. We have OV-levels of wickedness here, guys.

Even his tweets are evil.
Before he’s even appeared on the show, Todd Williams is teasing how intimidating he is on Twitter. “Map of Mystic Falls? Check. Weapons? Check. More weapons? Check. More weapons? Check. #TVD,” he wrote. That’s quite a list.

Everyone is scared of him.
He’s been described as “badass,” “scary hot,” and a “force to be reckoned with.” We’d add “ruthless” to the descriptors.

He’s not going anywhere for a while.
According to the synopsis for the ominously titled Season 4, Episode 5, “The Killer,” Connor is still around and pulling some nasty stunts.

Secret weapons.
Remember when Todd tweeted about the arsenal Connor’s toting to Mystic Falls? He has some good ones.
