Is Richard Castle A Murderer?

Just as things were heating up for our blissfully happy couple, the jaw-dropping promo for Castle Season 5, Episode 5: “Probable Cause” left us with an even bigger question than the winner of this year’s presidential election: Is Richard Castle actually capable of murder?

When Castle becomes the prime suspect in the case of a woman who was found tied to the ceiling, he struggles to justify his whereabouts after his prints are found all over the scene of the heinous crime. After seeing that, we couldn’t help but wonder how much we really know about the hunky crime writer.

Remember that Rick wasn’t exactly the most straitlaced author pre-Beckett, and even loved the idea of a copycat Castle in the very first episode. But is real life finally catching up with him and imitating art? They say write what you know, and boy, does Castle know a lot about mystery and murder.

As much as we don’t want to believe this could possibly be true, past episodes have proven that it’s always the most unlikely suspects that commit the crimes — hello, scandal with Captain Montgomery — so never say never.

Chime in, devoted fans. Could Castle be a cold-blooded killer? Or is another copycat looking to bring down the best-selling author? Weigh in below!
