In a flashback in Fairytale Land, Milah drinks and laughs with Captain Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) and his rowdy friends at a bar. Rumple shyly approaches their table and tells her, “Milah, it’s time to go.” She replies, “Good, so go.” When Hook asks Milah who he is, she says, “No one. He’s just my husband.” Hook says, “He’s a tad taller than you described,” and the whole crowd bursts out laughing.
We learn, through Milah’s dialogue, that she’s embarrassed of Rumple, who was too cowardly to fight in the ogre wars. “Other women became heroes’ widows while I became latched to the village coward,” she says.
The good news is that Milah does have one soft spot: Baelfire, their son. As soon as he appears, she goes from party girl to caring mother.
