Patrick Dempsey: I “Got My Hand Slapped” for Tweeting the Mark Death Spoiler

All Grey's Anatomy fans can recall the day back in August when Patrick Dempsey (Derek Shepherd) tweeted a photo of Mark (Eric Dane) in a hospital bed looking not-so-steamy, mainly because it caused all of us to freak out. But as it turns out, the fans weren’t the only ones freaking out.

Huffington Post reports that Patrick recently went on HLN's Morning Express and discussed the repercussions for his social media spoiler.

“I sometimes share the storylines a little too early. So I got my hand slapped for spoiling certain episodes. I gave an indication [McSteamy] wouldn't survive the plane crash,” Patrick said.

Clearly, he wasn’t in too much trouble if he’s willing to talk about it. We mean, how long can you stay mad at that face? Especially when the spoilee (yep, we made that word up) didn’t mind.

During a past appearance on Ellen, Eric said, “He took the picture, and he said, 'I'm gonna tweet this,' and I said, 'Well you should, that'll piss somebody off, so go for it.’”

When good boys go bad ... We kind of love it.

Patrick also revealed that he thinks the show has another season or two left depending on the ratings. So make sure you’re tuning in, unless you’re ready to let go of McDreamy. Just the thought makes us cringe.

Catch the next new episode of Grey’s Anatomy on Thursday, October 25 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
