Sorry, Dean Geyer! Lea Michele Originally Wanted THIS Movie Star to Play Her Glee Season 4 Love Interest

It’s no secret that Glee’s Lea Michele (Rachel) loves working with her new on-screen love interest Dean Geyer (Brody). The two actors had plenty of chemistry, right from the start, and Lea even told Dean and the casting folks that he was her favorite out of all the top contenders for the role.

That said, it turns out that Lea originally had her own idea about which guy should play Brody. And it wasn’t Dean!

Lea has been close friends with actor Skylar Astin — who stars in the new movie Pitch Perfect as Anna Kendrick’s love interest — ever since the two of them performed together in the 2006 Broadway musical Spring Awakening.

Lea tells The Hollywood Reporter that she’s been trying to get Skylar a role on Glee for a while now. “I wanted them to see him for Brody and for so many characters along the way,” Lea tells THR, “but he just has to stop being a movie star and doing so many movies!”

Still, that doesn’t mean she has any plans to stop trying. “I'm his biggest fan and he's one of my best friends and couldn't be happier for him and his success. He's amazing in Pitch Perfect. The minute I can get him on Glee, I want him on the show.”

What do you think: Did Glee make the right choice casting Australian hottie Dean in the role of Brody, or do you think that Skylar would have been a better pick?

And if Skylar were to ever pop up on Glee, what sort of character would you want to see him play? We just so happen have a couple of our own ideas about what sort of role Skylar could play on Glee. Because we may have thought about it once or twice. Not going to lie.
