Tom Hanks Accidentally Drops F-Bomb Live on Good Morning America!
The Nicest Guy in Hollywood? Eff that! He's a badass!
Tom Hanks was on Good Morning America today, promoting his new movie Cloud Atlas, in which he plays multiple characters. One of his roles is as a tough British writer, and they showed a clip where the guy just got a brutal critique.
Tom said the clip's lesson is to not mess with him. Reporter Elizabeth Vargas wanted him to say something in that character's voice.
Tom: "Oy! Oy! Mostly it's swear words.."
Elizabeth said if he said things in his thick British accent it wouldn't sound so bad.
He started muttering some words into his hand-held mic, and when he accidentally added "f-cking" he and Liz immediately realized it and covered their mouths as everyone in the studio gasped.
Elizabeth: "We are so sorry ... uh ... Good Morning America."
Tom: "I'm so sorry! I slipped into a brand of [Method] acting. I have never done that before. I want to apologize to the kids in America that are watching this right now. And let me say, next time I'm on the show there will be a seven-second delay!"
He jokingly blamed the staff for giving him a hand-held mic to use. It was a little awkward, but also funny. If anyone can recover from an f-bomb, it's Tom Hanks!
