Glee Season 4 Music Spoiler: Rachel, Kurt and Sarah Jessica Parker Are About to Have a Kiki — But What’s a Kiki?
It’s time to dive, turn, and work: Glee is covering the Scissor Sisters!
Chris Colfer (Kurt) shared a pic of himself wearing a vest with the Scissor Sisters logo, along with the message: “We're having a Kiki at Glee today y'all! #DiveTurnWerk @scissorsisters”
It sounds like Lea Michele (Rachel) is just as excited about this news as we are, as she tweeted, “Getting ready to shoot a really fun musical number with @chriscolfer and SJP! This is one of my fav musical numbers! #omgSJP!”
Lea tells The Hollywood Reporter that “Let’s Have a Kiki” will be performed on the Thanksgiving episode by Rachel, Kurt, and Isabelle at Rachel and Kurt’s apartment after they have a feast (presumably with Tofurkey). Sounds like a way more fabulous way to spend Thanksgiving than by watching football, no?
Lea also reveals that Chris Colfer may have been instrumental in getting the song on the show, and it is “one of [his] favorite songs by the Scissor Sisters.” So thank you, Chris!
We think it will be a blast to see the three of them team up for this cheeky number, which we’re sure we’ll be accompanied by a fair amount ridiculous dancing. And it’s about time that Glee gets around to covering Scissor Sisters, since we’re still shocked that “Take Your Mama” has yet to be performed on the show. (Shouldn’t someone have sung it about Lea’s mom Shelby by now?)
Never gotten the chance to see the original “Let’s Have a Kiki” video before? Take a look below. Then watch it again, this time picturing Rachel, Kurt and Isabelle shakin’ it on stage. Mind. Blown.
